Hasib’s – B20 INTEGRA

In this session of NZFC reviews we are doing question and Answers with a Honda Driver!!

Name: Hasib Hussein

Age – 29

What do you do in your spare time?: Work takes up most of my time. When i do get free time
i like to spend time with my family and friends.

How long have you owned the car for? And how long have you been ‘building’ it for?
I have owned the Integra for a long time as for building it, it’s been about 2.5 years getting the
motor up to where it is now after a slight mishap on the track.

Why did you choose the DC2 platform? I was drawn to hondas for a while. It started with my
sohc vtec accord that helped me get a slight grasp on cars. Hondas are rather powerful cars if
you boil it down to the mechanics and VTEC being able to hold their own against cars with
forced induction.

Why did you choose this specific car? Essentially my integra is a reshell. My old integra shell
was on its way out with electrical problems and body problems here and there so I looked for a
cheap shell and I stumbled across this dc4 chassis. The sunroof was a big plus for me.

What’s done to the car?
● Engine: B20 Vtec (b18c head)
● Fuel setup: E85 fuel setup
● Gearbox: S80 LSD
● ECU: Link G4+
● Suspension: BC Gold adjustables.
● Wheels and tyres: XXR concave wheels on some pretty average tyres.
● Exterior: Nothing special. Itr style lip and some few goodies waiting to go on.
● Interior: Evo 4 SR3 recaros, ITR shift console, ITR cluster and a weighted skunk 2 shift knob
with a short shifter.
● Power: 113KW at the wheels however this is just a run in figure and the full tune is yet to
come

What were your initial plans with the car versus where you are now?
To be honest the initial plans for the car is around where the car is now all i could really say
doesn’t meet my current expectations is the exterior but that will soon be tidied up.

What are some of the highlights/memorable moments you’ve had with the car?
The whole journey I’ve had with my car has been memorable. The best memory I have is the
first startup of my Integra after the whole motor got rebuilt.
Are you looking forward to any shows this year? Wanting to aim for a specific award?
The car is still under some downtime at the moment so shows may not be something aligned for
this year so will just have to see what next year holds. Awards would be nice but honestly just
the experience is valuable to me.

Are you wanting to compete in any specific race series such as drag wars, superlap, production
series? Im looking at participating at the night wars drag races at mere mere to see if i can best
the time my car put down before i built it.

Have you taken it on track and what where your best times? My best time on mere mere was mid 14s

What’s next for you and the car?
I would like to get the cars full tune complete and then tidy up the body as its age is slowly
starting to show.

Who would you like to thank?
Generally I’d like to thank everyone who has been there for me and helped me along the way.
More specifically though id like to thank my family, mainly my little brother for being there and
taking an interest alongside me with my car. Next of all, I’d like to thank my cousin Tariq for his
endless support. I would also like to thank Ajay at Brian Payne and Ifti at ultimate performance
for all the help with my car. A huge thank you to everyone in the NZFC family for being there to
help and advise with many things and being awesome supporters along the way.

How would you describe NZFC?
NZFC is more than just a car club, id describe NZFC as a family we look out for each other and
help each other out in ways that exceed just car culture.

See you guys next time
