Suhail Sahib’s Sunny B310

Old S-Cool. The Infamous NFORCA

Photos by: Aidan Sami

Suhail more known as Sahib within the club since there’s 2 Suhail’s, or NFORCA has owned his Datsun for about 5 years and has been building it since then. The car has undertaken a massive transformation since the first day of ownership, and he’s constantly making changes to it. This car is no stranger to your local car meet or big car show nor is it a stranger to track tarmac! Sahib has done an amazing job and racked up a number of awards along the way.

Driver Profile:

  • Name: Suhail Sahib
  • Age: 24
  • What do you do in your spare time?: Catch up with friends/family, shisha, work on my cars

What made you choose the Sunny?
My late father was always into cars, which got me into them. I chose this sunny as I had a 4 door version of it back in high school that me and my uncle restored, it had a 1200cc engine and 4 speed box. I got tired of it and sold it because it was “old” and also slow and not modern enough 😂 and i wanted something faster and newer. Then i started looking at 180SX Type X and was about to buy one until NFORCA came up for sale on trademe for $1 reserve where I ended up buying it for $1600 as it was 2 door, 1400cc with a factory 5 speed box and was a rare NZ new SGX model which i thought was more sporty in a way.

Here’s the 4 door one Sahib had before. This one was more OEM with the idea of keeping things period correct and keeping the originality that drew him towards the Sunny.

What were your initial plans with the car versus where you are now?
Initial plans were just to restore project again with my uncle to pass time and learn new things along the way and to have a good weekend car to cruise around in. It was never intended to become a show car but one thing led to another and now you see the car before you after a lot of time and money going into it over the past 5 years!

Rocking Work Equip 01’s with gold hardware, black lips and silver centre. Work Wheels created an amazing wheel that seems like it was made for the old school cars. Not to miss the Tyre Letters from the team at Tyre Letters who have been supporting us for a long time!

Are you looking forward to any shows this year? Wanting to aim for a specific award?
At the moment its off season so I have some plans up my sleeve 😉 But, the aim will be to win more best classic awards, best 4 cylinder awards!

Are you wanting to compete in any specific race series?
I’m looking to compete in drag wars to beat my personal best and get into the 15’s hopefully before upgrading my diff setup to LSD or doing anymore engine mods

Have you taken on it on track?
Yes, I take it to every track event possible. It’s been to Pukekohe, Meremere, Hampton Downs and Manfield all the way down in Palmy! My best time at Meremere at the moment is 16.1s.

What’s next for you and the car?
Next for the car is a whole new makeover, which can be see at Nats 2020 as a reveal 😉

Who would you like to thank?
I would like to thank my wife and parents for supporting me throughout the build of my car and being my strive to succeed. My sponsors Ultimate LEDs, Bridgestone Westgate and Glenburn Panelbeaters for always sorting me out until the last minute! Also the NZFC family for always having my back!

How would you describe NZFC?
NZFC is not just a club its a group of mates that became a family whilst having some of the sickest cars in NZ! They will always have your back if you break down on track or just need a favour in general not car related. Honestly feel so welcomed and humbled when I first joined and I’ve never looked back! One love <3

Sahib has a lot of things planned for the near future and we can’t wait to see what he has in store for all of us. His attention to detail is crazy, we can only imagine whats on the way, it could be anything! Sahib has been a member of NZFC before he had NFORCA, he’s been a great member to our little family we have.

Thank you for sharing your pride and joy with us!
